Sonny Okosuns ( 1947- 2008)
It is with sad hearts that we must announce the passing of yet another musical Icon. The Music Community of the world, especially of Africa, will miss this musical pioneer who achieved international stature by aiming his music — a catchy, rock-inflected cocktail of funk, reggae, Afrobeat and more — at human-rights abuses. Since 1994 Sonny turned his formidable talent to preaching and performing gospel music. Rest In Peace Sonny.
